Our office has received several
calls about the construction
activity on Cabela’s Drive near
Old San Antonio Road. Yes, that
is the location of our new Buda
Post Office. Site work is
underway and the new facility
should be open late fall 2009.
US Foods recently issued a press
release announcing their “Letter
of Intent” to purchase
approximately 40 acres of
property in the Sunfield MUD
located just east of Interstate
Highway 35. US Foods currently
operates a facility in Austin
which serves this portion of the
state. They are landlocked in
the current facility and are
seeking an area for expansion.
Buda Economic Development
Corporation, the City of Buda,
Hays County, the landowners and
US Foods continue to move
forward to make this project a
reality. US Foods is the second
largest food service supplier in
the United States offering
quality products to
institutional customers while
providing well-paying jobs to
their long tenured employees.
Look for additional food choices in
Buda with the opening of Sonic
Restaurant at FM 967/1626 and Arby’s
on Old San Antonio Road near the
Hampton Inn in the next few days.
“Budafest” is coming to downtown
Buda for the 29th
year on Saturday and Sunday,
December 6 and 7. Live music,
food and lots of handmade crafts
will be available for purchase.
Don’t forget the parade on
Saturday morning.

local businesses working to educate
citizens about purchasing their
goods and services here instead of
